Education
In addition to the goal of reducing the stigma of mental illness, we also work toward improving the mental health in our community through education. A Directory of Mental Health Services in Summit County is published each year and is distributed to approximately 12,000 individuals and agencies.
The ADVOCATE is distributed to more than 6,000 individuals, agencies, and businesses 3-4 times a year. These newsletters deal with mental health issues, what's happening in Summit County, legislative alerts, and what's new in research.
Workshops are presented annually focusing on a different mental health issue each year. These workshops are open to the public, and CEU's are offered in several disciplines.
D/ART(Depression-Awareness-Recognition-Treatment) is an awareness program providing up-to-date information on depression and treatments. We reach out to individuals by targeting a specific time in a person's life that might lead to depression.
In cooperation with the Domestic Relations Court, we send information to all individuals in Summit County who are seeking a divorce. Included is a letter, a suggested reading list, our Directory of Mental Health Services, and a brochure from the Court, explaining the divorce procedure.

The Mental Health America answers thousands of calls a year and provides information about services, support groups, crisis intervention centers and hotlines throughout the country. Referrals to agencies and mental health professionals are made to individuals and family members.
Thousands of pieces of literature on mental health topics are distributed to those who request this information.
